View Full Version : Oil Catch Can
Back N Black 10-28-2009, 02:08 AM Im sure most everyone here already has one but if you don't I would recommend getting one soon. You would be amazed if you seen the amount of oil that it traps from entering your intake. I empty mine about every 1500 miles and it is close to half full each time.
I need to get me one...............also need to get a check valve so I dont loose any boost..................
Prospector 10-28-2009, 02:20 AM Yeah, the Catch Can is a great device
Oreo, what are you talkin' about -- check valve?

For the Caliber srt4 B-Woody makes a check valve for my lines...............once in boost some is suppose to leak out of this line............Im now doing my reserch on this.........but from what I have read its needed or Ill blow oil right through the catch can.................

Black Magic 10-28-2009, 03:15 AM Man that sure looks like a lot... about 1200 miles in the last week so that's a good amount of driving.

OK, maybe it is a lot, just think, that's nasty oil that's NOT going back into the intake...
Willtransco 10-28-2009, 03:25 AM Thanks BNB...that's good advise. Will get mine soon after I do the 15 other mods hahaha
Might want to move this up close to top of list..
hawkeye4077 10-28-2009, 03:31 AM Its an excellent mod. One of the first I did on my SRT8, R/T and SRT4.
Back N Black 10-28-2009, 03:47 AM Gotta remember though when the can is doing it's job and catching oil it is taking oil out of your engine so you might want to keep an eye on the oil level and add as needed.

That is true. However the amount of oil you use is not that significant. You will probably lose less than 1/4 qt. in about 6000 miles. Never a bad idea to check your oil level though :)
