Fastest way to get about 75 HP without nitrous or supercharger

e fan conversion, 180 thermo, ud pulley, predator custom tune, intake, exhaust. an easy crank 75 horse, maybe more

^ what he said. You should be able to get 75 HP at the crank easily with bolt-ons.

E fan conversion? Explain a little more please

E fan converstion? Don't you already have an electric fan?

You could get a larger TB too. That's a simple bolt on as well.

So why no power adders matt??

im not sure what the setup is on the challenger but my ram has a clutch driven fan and an electric fan. By taking off the clutch driven and adding a larger electric fan you remove a belt driven devise which frees up parasitic drag from the motor. You don't actually make more hp, but you are more efficient. I wouldn't do it without a t-stat and predator to set the temp the fan comes on though. This generally frees up 5-10hp with the fan alone.

Some good input on this thread, but, as far as the fan goes, the Charger & Challenger only have electric fans. Just wanted to clarify that. ;) I'm keeping an eye on this one myself, as I'd like to add a bit more, w/o going into the engine too!:)

Well there goes the fan idea. 75 hp is easy. For example, headers and a canned tune on my ram adds 45 rwhp. Thats 60 crank hp with nothing else. For my truck I'm doing intake, headers, muffler(my exhaust is pretty good stock), ud pulley, e fan, t stat, throttle body, and a custom tune and I'm expecting 70-100 rwhp gain. Stay away from tb spacers and make sure you get a dry filter in your intake. Beyond that pick a couple bolt ons, combine with a tune and 75 is easy

Sounds like you have a good start to 75. With what you have, a ud pulley, and a custom tune you should get 75+. I don't know about the challenger, but on the ram forums there is very limited positive things to say about msd. We already have 2 spark plugs and a coil per cylinder, and gone are the wires of old. Let the challenger guys give you a review on it though. I was going to do the same but the ram guys talked me into saving my money...

Cam.

Arrington makes a "mildly" aggressive cam, no need to upgrade any other engine guts. Slap on a CAI and 85mm throttle body and good ole custom tune (the actual key to getting the most out of anything you do to your ride).

Of all my mods, that one right there (including custom tune) is what gave me the biggest boost in power. It is NOT an easy task BUT, beleive it or not, the biggest headache is taking off your front end.

If it's something you want to do, I have an LX buddy (on another forum......shhhhh) who helped me do mine, has some excellent tips on getting it done without tearing out the guts of your ride. WIth some good help, maybe a 4 hr job.

I'm all about Naturally Aspirated power.

That was my next plan....couldn't really take the entire car apart right now since its my daily driver so went ahead with some easier stuff...only thing I don't like about lawton is that I have no clue where to get 93 octane...I mean hell I can get 110 right out of the pump but no 93

SRT Steve

93 is hard to come by in these here parts (impossible in Kansas). I had mine tuned with the 91 octane, then when I go to the track, I give her a bottle of octane boost. Reviews of the stuff varies and which one is the best, but Amsoil Series 2000 seems to get good results on tests (where they actually used a car with an engine tuned for high octane in the test). Probelm is, I can't find it anywhere around here. Another one, very close results to the Amsoil is NOS Racing Formual (not for street use....yeah right). I HAVE used that stuff with positive butt-dyno results. Just be careful with that stuff, can harm O2 sensors, which is why I only use it sparingly and then only at the track.

i might have to check that out when i hit the track, just got some other ideas for catching traction from our meet and greet tonight and just ordered a BT catch can after i heard all the great things about them.

Catch Can: Lemme tell ya a little story. I moved to Kansas from Washington (State). Was part of a very large LX club there and we all helped each other out with mods. When I did my cam shaft, another guy in the club wanted to do a cam swap on his 300 at the same time. I had catch can, he did not. He had about 30k miles on his ride by this time. For whatever reason, I think to straighten a bent fuel rod, we popped off the heads and holy crap the gunk built up in there was fricken unbelievable (no need to compare mine as I only had about 5k miles at the time, would have been cleaner no matter what). The gunk in manifold and everything. Yeah, he got a catch can right away after we cleaned all that up.

No idea, I'm in Topkea. I'm in the Wichita chapter cause it was the closest one when I joined, KC just started one not too long ago, but we're all one big family anyway.

All I know is that I can't find any in Topeka.

Go with the NOS Racing Formula, it's comparable to within like 1 HP, and it's in every auto parts store I have fcome across (I like the "not legal for street use" label they put on it....funny).

I know Amsoil has one of their large regional warehouses in Wichita. Have you gone to the Amsoil website to do a Dealer inquiry for your area. You may have a Dealer in your area that you don't know about.
Here's the link to help you out..........http://www.amsoil.com/locator/dealerlocator.aspx

I've checked it out before, one place doesn't pop up with a business name, reads like a private residence. I tried to find the other place before, not sure if they're still in business, couldn't find it (only two show up). I just pick up the NOS stuff at O'Reilly's because it's right by work and on the way to the track and there are a couple of good Mopar buddies who work there, besides I'm there pretty much once a week picking up detailing stuff for the Challenger (it's my daily/only driver...it gets dirty...bleh!).

Alot of the Amsoil Dealers operate their business out of their home. I know the guy where I get my Amsoil items from, keeps his stock of products in his shop at his house.

:D Nice one Steve. No, the guy I get my stuff from goes to Wichita once a month to their warehouse. He pulls a small enclosed trailer with him. I asked him one time how much product he usually buys. He told me between the $3000 and $4000 dollar range. I know he has a few Commercial accounts besides selling to regular people.
