Ok so today I got the heatshield to cover the gas tank and all the hangers for the driver side. A BIG THANK YOU TO GREENKING for a reasonable deal. This week (hopefully before Thursday I'm getting an SRT exhaust installed. (ANOTHER BIG THANK YOU TO OKCHARGER FOR THE GREAT DEAL ON THE EXHAUST) Will provide pics and sound at that time.:D:D:D

First of all I want to say that i am excited about finally getting the exhaust done. HolySXT from the forumz has the same setup as I'm getting and he says I'm gonna love it. ( I also noticed he has the same rims as the ones I just bought) Gonna leave work as early as possible (1:30 or 2) and jet straight down to Norman.


Greenking gave me a really sweet deal on the heatshield and all the mounts for the lefft side at $60.

I was gonna put the heatshield on today but I didnt have the right stuff to do it with and ended up spending alot of time squirming around on the ground and not getting alot done. I guess I'm getting old. Used to be I could spend most of the day under a car and it didnt bother me. Today i spent about an hour under there and got a ppounding headache and nothing accomplished, finally said the heck with it I'll just get the muffler guy to do it. Next time I'll be better prepared and find a jack that will get my car up alot more. I was tryin to use a craftsman jack that just didnt go very high. The back wheels were still on the ground. LOL

WHERE ARE YOUR JACK STANDS!!!!! Please PLEASE use jack stands. We recently lost one of our LX lovers from the LX forums when a jack slipped. Don't wanna loose you to something simple like that.

Thanks man, I was using two jack stands. The problem was I could barely get the car high enough to get them under it. I wont try to take on anything under one again soon without the right stuff to do it with.LOL I tried to do it flying by the seat of my pants and before I was done, my pants were down around my ankles!!! LOL. i should know better then to try to rush anything like that. MY BAD.

Thought you couldnt install an srt8 exhaust on sxt because of the back draft issue ??? Cant wait to hear it!

Whew.. you scared me there. Yeap, the SXT can mount SRT but not the SE. SE can only do RT.

I've been checking out the exhaust posts on the forumz for sometime now and you may have to go back a bit but there is some good info. I also talked to a guy who had been posting about his for awhile and he loves it. I guess he has had it for at least 6 or 7 months

The RT Exhaust is just as Good for us 3.5 guys, right?

I was going to get the SRT Exhaust from OKCharger but I came across an RT Set here from a military guy. As soon as he is back this month, I am getting it from him.

Cant wait to hear sound clips and pics! Take pics of under the car as well if you can. Best time to do that is when they have it lifted up during install.

If they will let me I plan on getting under the car before and after pics. Got my camera and batteries in th car

The RT has a 1/4 inch less diameter than the SRT (if I remember right). That less diameter still provides enough back pressure while giving the dual exhaust.

I understand that the 2.7 will be smaller but if it works on the SXT that has a 3.5, why wouldnt it work on the SE that has the 3.5 as well? is there a different setup engine wise?

OK, on the Mag the SE is the 2.7, I don't think there is a 3.5 SE Magnum. I don't see why the 3.5 SE CHARGER would be any different than the 3.5 SXT Charger so...

The 2.7 can not use the SRT 6.1 exhaust, only the 5.7 exhaust. The 3.5 is fine to use the 6.1 exhaust. There is a slight diameter difference between the 5.7 and the 6.1, the 6.1 being larger.

NP, I'm use to talking about SE Mags... Don't think the 3.5 was ever an option for the SE Magnum. I'll try to remember to use engine size instead of model designation hehe.

OK everything went great except for the huge clot of mud someone hit my car with. More on that in another thread. I love my new exhaust. I have a video clip or two that i have to get on youtube and I'll add the link soon as its done. No pictures its too dark. I'll get em tomorrow.

Thanks man. I had the traction control turned off and when I went to turn around I pulled into a parking lot. When I came back out on the road I nailed it and the rear end broke loose hard and I came around about 270 degrees.:eek: I wasn't expecting it and it shocked me. Wish Mike would've caught that on the video:D. Anyway, I don't know if it is my imagination or not but it seems like my car has significantly more power now, both out of the hole and top end. hey I'm nuts though so it could just be me:D:D
