View Full Version : 0-60 mph Time
rednug 07-01-2011, 02:05 PM This isn't so much a mod, but it does fall under the "Engine Discussion" catagory.
While trying to find out how to have the a digital speedometer appear on my '11 R/T, I found this little gem (along with a couple of cool displays).
It's a 0-60 mph stopwatch

I can't wait for DiabloSport to come out with their Predator tune and for Mopar's CAI for this car.
HonkEwitDaJeep 07-01-2011, 03:15 PM Yeah there are some cool screens in the EVIC, so have you tries to get that 0-60 time down some more haha
mike171 07-01-2011, 07:44 PM I stopped one night on the highway near my house and did it like 12 times when no one was coming hahah

You should be able to get that down. Mines around 5.3 with tire spin that I can't help.
rednug 07-03-2011, 03:27 AM I really would like to know how to get the time down. I have been less than impress with the 2011 Challenger's quickness. It's a slug off of the line. This thing will hardly never spin the tires and every other run I have made has been in the low to mid 6's. I have a cat back exhaust.
SRT Steve 07-04-2011, 03:31 AM 1. auto or 6 speed?
2. how many miles on it? (need around 3000 to 5000 for the entire drivetrain to be fully broken in)
3. if it's hot enough outside, it'll run like a slug though the 5.7s don't seem to heat soak as badly or quickly as the 6.1s.
4. It's not entirely about how much horsepower/torque, it's also where you're putting the horsepower/torque to the ground (RPMs) and when (hammering it at launch? steady peddle pressure?), so it'll take some practice to find that sweet spot.
5. If you're running 91 oct pump gas, try various stations as these hemi's like some gas and hate others, even though they're all the same octane. Then, might try tossing in some octane boost every now and then (careful not too much could foul the O2 sensors I heard). Amsoil and NOS are the brands I hear the best comments on. 93 oct would probably be better if you can get some, though I'm not too sure on the 5.7s.
6. Still have to go back to previously stated, keep working at it, find that sweet spot between where and when you're getting the power to the pavement. It's tricky as hell with the 6 speeds, not as much with the auto's.
My first few times I was around 5.6 sec, just took some practice to get it down, but on mine, wheel spin is what keeps it from getting better, still narrowing down that sweet spot which seems to change...lol
HonkEwitDaJeep 07-04-2011, 03:38 AM Kevin yours will react completely different if they ever get the tuner made for the 2011's
rednug 07-04-2011, 12:14 PM Oh, I know :) Can't wait for DiabloSport to come up with their Predator tune
ghost 08-01-2011, 12:49 AM hey..like that, how do i get that up on my screen, whats it under?
Back N Black 08-01-2011, 01:04 AM On your steering wheel, push the musical note button and the compass button at the same time. Hold them for about 5 seconds. this will open up a menu of several different functions. the 0-60 is in there somewhere. use the up and down arrows on the steering wheel to scroll through.

After the car has started, hold the up arrow for 8 seconds, then hold the down arrow for 5 seconds (or until the display changes).

You can toggle through the different displays. You will find a digital speedometer, the 0-60 clock and a bunch more thingies. To get back to your original display turn the car off.
Try a search for the "0-60 timer" on the different forums.
