scott386 09-06-2011, 07:46 PM Very nice!
Wow... that lays down better than I thought it would. I expected it to be kinda rough.
Back N Black 09-06-2011, 09:23 PM Right on... That looks cool!!
mike171 09-06-2011, 09:54 PM Not a huge fan of PD on exterior parts but doesn't look to bad on those.
Are you planning on keeping them like that or is this a temporary solution?
Mopar Girl 09-07-2011, 01:06 PM It feels pretty rubbery to the touch but looks smooth. I plan to keep them like that. No sense in shelling out a bunch on powder coating when I can get the same look for $10. We were skeptical about using it but it turned out great!
rednug 09-07-2011, 02:17 PM that looks cool. can't beat the price either. are you going to try to get the lug nuts black too? all-n-all, it's very sharp lookn. great job
mike171 09-07-2011, 03:41 PM I hear ya. I've done a couple interior peices and they came out nice. Let us know how it holds up on the wheels.
Mopar Girl 09-07-2011, 07:50 PM I don't know about the lugs yet. I just bought new ones from when I took the 22's off of it that the car had when I bought it. They are expensive and I really don't want to have to buy ANOTHER set. Mike171, my boyfriend did his co workers wheels back in June and they are still holding up great! I ran it through the auto car wash and it's still there. Really doesn't make any sense lol. What interior pieces did you do?
mike171 09-07-2011, 09:21 PM I did the chrome shifter bezel in my Daytona and in my wifes Maggy.

Mopar Girl 09-07-2011, 10:34 PM I didn't think to do that piece! I hate that one "chrome" piece right there. Thanks for the idea!
mike171 09-07-2011, 10:48 PM Yeah Im not a big fan of chrome, it always reflected the sun into my eyes, and just didn't match anything so I decided it had to go lol
Deathrend 09-07-2011, 11:31 PM I did mine a while back, had to peel it off after a run-in with a semi messed up two of my wheels though.. lol

Mopar Girl 09-08-2011, 03:06 AM I hate chrome too and almost anything else with a metal finish haha.
It stood up pretty well though until the semi right?
405GoManGo 09-08-2011, 04:30 PM I had mine done with Black Chrome
summer72 09-12-2011, 11:20 PM Those look great! Tell me though. Did he sand them first or just paint over the top layer? I have the same rims and they are getting bubbles. I would imagine sanding the top layer would be a best practice anytime you paint with any form.
bobbyfinster 09-13-2011, 03:44 AM I've seem some plasti dipped wheels not to long ago on a ride; that stuff can turn out good if done right. It's always nice for a change, especially when it's temporary!
Mopar Girl 09-13-2011, 02:33 PM It's not temporary I plan on keeping them like that. Just wipe the wheel off and spray it on whatever you do don't sand them because if you decide to take it off your wheels will look like crap.
summer72 09-17-2011, 03:38 PM Well, that makes sense.

Deathrend 09-19-2011, 07:35 PM I went way to thin on my wheels.. The thicker you go, the better it looks, and the easier it comes off (When you want it to come off at least). I used almost two cans of white on my engine cover.
Took me a bit to find a picture lol

Mopar Girl 09-21-2011, 07:18 PM Your engine cover looks awesome!!! We put on a pretty thick coat so it would come off easy. Ill have to repaint whenever I get new tires because the tire machine will take it right off but it's still not a bad deal!

Looks great!!
Deathrend 10-12-2011, 04:48 PM I guess I should have warned them what it was when I sold my car, but I didn't think about it.. lol
I was always afraid of it melting off.. but it really stayed on well, even with it being right over the engine in the middle of summer!

Never thought of using that on the engine cover! Now if they have it in HEMI Orange, I'm set!
Looks good BTW
srt8superB 10-12-2011, 07:18 PM I love my plasti-dipped wheels I don't think I'll ever go back to chrome.
The black and yellow just looks so good together.

It also depends how you spray it when it comes to the finished product.
Light coats will give you a rough textured finish
Heavy coats will give you a smooth flat finsih.
Mopar 11 #837 12-01-2011, 05:17 AM That all oks good. I'm going to use the actual dip to cover my chrome center caps. If you look at the plasti dip website they can mix custom colors foe those who want Hemi Orange I'm sure they can get very close to it.
Charger RT 2010 12-02-2011, 02:50 AM You can pick up a full set of Gorillia lug nuts (in black) for not much $$. Solid lug nuts unlike the factory ones.
HonkEwitDaJeep 12-02-2011, 03:10 AM How many cans of the spray do you need for 4 wheels?? What kind of cost are you looking at?
LKLive13 12-02-2011, 03:31 AM Looks pretty sweet... Landon, one of the guys on the Z said he did his 18s with 5 cans... i think its about 6 or 7 bucks a can but im not really sure... Lowes has it up here but thats the only place i have been able to find it!
HonkEwitDaJeep 12-02-2011, 03:34 AM so for under $50....very interesting
LKLive13 12-02-2011, 03:55 AM I dont think you could go wrong with 10 cans... you will find some pretty creative uses for it! Do yourself a favor and go to the Challenger Z and search a thread called "How did you do that? I used Plastidip". There are some pretty cool pics!
Mopar 11 #837 12-02-2011, 09:47 PM Home Depot has it also. Or you can order it from the Plasti-Dip website
Mopar Girl 12-02-2011, 11:37 PM 2 cans did all 4 of my wheels with some leftover, just sayin. And it has a thick coat of it.
