I am still trying to figure out what exhaust work I want to do my my 08 R/T R/T.

I heard Kevin's Challenger and I think he has Flowmaster Super 40's with 2 1/2 pipes. I am not sure if he has done anything else but it sounds good.

I am trying to decide on the following:

2 1/2" pipes versus 3" pipes? the guy at the muffler shop recommends 2 1/2".

Catless versus leaving factory cats? I know if I go catless that it will throw an error code but if I am not mistaken a Predator will clear that code. Will going catless afect my gas mileage and will the Predator clear the code and keep it cleared or will it be something I have to clear on a regular basis? I have yet to buy my Predator but that will be done within the next two weeks.

Resonator Delete I am pretty sure I want the suitcases gone.

What Muffler to use? I want a good muffler with a nice aggressive sound. I have heard the Super 40's on Kevin and the Super 44's online and they both sound good but is it the best. The guy at the Muffler shop didnt recommend one but was trying to discourage me from Flowmaster.

Please provide me with your input.

2.5" pipe for sure..............3 would be overkill for a naturally aspriated car unless your making a ton of power right now..............which sounds to me that your still pretty much a stock motor.............

I have an SRT. Initially, all I did was remove the rear mufflers at under the rear quarter panels. I replaced these with the Blastin' Bob's straight pipes. There is a little drone at about 1800 rpm.

Later, I changed to long tube headers with high flow cats and the volume got a little louder. I get compliments on how mean my car sounds everywhere I go. It is loud, so if you like classical music, this is not the combination for you.

I had Flowmaster Super 44's on my charger with the resonators deleted, I loved it. You really want to think about leaving the cats on.. your nose will thank you!

I have a friend that has a 2010 R/T. He did the reso delete with the Super 44s. Man it sounds great for a resonable price. I don't think the sound clips do the 44s justice. Good Luck

what exactly are the cats?

As explained by Wikipedia:
A catalytic converter is a device used to convert toxic exhaust emissions from an internal combustion engine into non-toxic substances. Inside a catalytic converter, a catalyst stimulates a chemical reaction in which noxious byproducts of combustion undergo a chemical reaction. The type of chemical reaction varies depending upon the type of catalyst installed, for example current North American gasoline powered Light Duty Vehicles are fitted with a Three-way Catalytic Converter, which reduces carbon monoxide(CO), unburned hydrocarbons(HC), and oxides of nitrogen(NO, NO2, & N2O) to produce carbon dioxide(CO2), nitrogen(N2), and water(H2O).

In layman's terms: Its something that makes your exhaust not eat through the ozone and kill us all. :D And in many states, is required to pass inspections.

I say magnaflow or flowmaster DBX. I like a clean sound not that gurgle sound after u rev it. If you delete the cats go with 4 mufflers 2 on each side. Rick deleted his cats on his challenger and said it didnt sound very good with only one muffler on each side.

I just ordered my Predator Tuner from Speedlogix and a Hood Strut Kit.

A few more weeks and I will add the Cold Air Intake followed by my Exhaust Upgrade.

I'm trying to decide what I want to do with my truck.. I was going to go Catback, but I'm thinking I may just weld on a Cherry Bomb Extreme.. Should be enough to annoy the neighbors :D

Hood Struts arrived and I have already installed them. I am now going to paint the compression chamber part of the hood struts red.

Predator Tuner is installed and I am using the 91 Octane Performance Tune and I can already tell a dramatic Difference. I cant wait until I get the Cold Air Intake installed and the Exhaust redone so I can upgrade to the 91 or 93 Octane CAI Performance Tune. Or take it and get it Dyno Tuned.

I put Zoomers, Cat back on my 06 charger R/T and it sounds real good. If you have to clear error codes because you deleted the cats, it will be every time you turn it on. High flow cats are a better idea. I have a Ram Air hood and a 93 tune and it sounds good all the time.

You can have a tuner turn the rear o2's off if you drop the cats. I put Magnaflows on mine (they flow way better than Flowmasters ). A warning on ditching the cats, it will sound very "flappy" with no cats, unless you add race bullets. Not sure if you are willing to travel to have exhaust work done, but there is a good shop in Norman if you want a great exhaust at a great price. PM me if you are interested.

My husband has 40 series flowmasters (2.5") and it sounds good, there is surprisingly little drone.

Oh, hey, just saw you had a Predator tuner... No need to take it to the dyno, email tunes work pretty well.... Again, I can help you get hooked up on that too :)

Just noticed you have an 08... Does it have the Metinger rear end or a Getrag?
