View Full Version : K&N CAI VS Others?
DaytonaDan 10-12-2011, 06:25 PM I am currently looking at getting a CAI for my 06 Daytona, this will be my first mod other then the tinted windows lol.
I would like some inside opinions, i have found that K&N makes one and on every previous car i have had i have went with K&N but im open to something else if it
A sounds better
or
B performs better
anyone have any input? i would greatly appreciate it!!!!
HonkEwitDaJeep 10-12-2011, 06:33 PM I have a carbon composite Aria on mine, had a k&n before that. I was not happy with the k&n at all honestly. Aria is out of business now but Legmaker uses the same design for their "hammer" style CAI. I guess it just depends on personal preference. I will be taking my CAI off and selling it before I trade the car in.
DaytonaDan 10-12-2011, 06:49 PM When will that be? i would be interested....
what did u not like about the K&N?
HonkEwitDaJeep 10-12-2011, 06:57 PM The K&N was ok, but once I switched I could tell a big difference in the amount of air being sucked into the intake, performance was a lot better. I am gonna start removing mods in the next week or two
blue bayou 10-12-2011, 06:57 PM I use the AFE it is not loud on mine

HonkEwitDaJeep 10-12-2011, 07:09 PM Probably around $200 or so, if you make it up to the Norman area let me know and I will make sure you get to see it
DaytonaDan 10-12-2011, 07:21 PM can u post a pic of it bud? i would prefer to not have to drive to norman i live in lawton lol. i love norman but thats a drive lol sorry for being difficult bro
HonkEwitDaJeep 10-12-2011, 07:30 PM If you go to my for sale thread "parts for sale" there is a picture of my engine bay. I am on my phone right now so I can't post another. I can get it to Lawton I bet.

Here is a pic, it is dusty lol but I can wipe it off for ya. The IAT has been relocated to the filter end of the tube so you get a cooler reading also.
HonkEwitDaJeep 10-12-2011, 07:46 PM The other stuff would not fit anyways, the 5.7 and 6.1 are different configurations
DaytonaDan 10-12-2011, 07:47 PM oh yeah i meant visual things but either way man i am very interested in this just let me know when u want to get rid of it...
HonkEwitDaJeep 10-12-2011, 07:56 PM I am trying to see when Back N Black is gonna be up here next. He might be able to pick it up from me today if you are ready to go. I will send you a pm
DaytonaDan 10-12-2011, 08:01 PM ok bud just let me know good luck with selling everything BTW sucks u r having too the bee is sweet
DaytonaDan 10-12-2011, 08:31 PM also you are wanting to trade your SRT wheels for just R/T wheels?
HonkEwitDaJeep 10-12-2011, 09:48 PM R/T wheels will not fit on my car otherwise I would.
DaytonaDan 10-12-2011, 09:50 PM really? The R/T and SRT have different lug patterns???
HonkEwitDaJeep 10-12-2011, 09:51 PM No, the srt wheels have a different offset because of the brembo brakes, so the r/t wheels will not clear the calipers
DaytonaDan 10-12-2011, 09:52 PM ok so the SRT will fit the Daytona? sucks i thought i would be able to get those on the cheap lol
HonkEwitDaJeep 10-12-2011, 10:20 PM You can pick up a set of brand new SRT replicas in black for around $700 I think. Check out 213auto.net they have great prices on them. Tell em I sent you.
