I mean, since I'm kind of a "Loner" (having the OLD Mopar and all) here, as best as I know. I've got 2 questions about mods that I'm thinking about for my GTX and I'm not sure where to put them. I'll be brief and then maybe that will help you all to see my situation. The manual steering on the old GTX, is not the best and the engine is running up there a bit, when you are up to freeway speeds (or it seems like it, I haven't gotten my speedometer issue taken care of yet). So, I'm considering seeing if I can swing one of those power rack and pinion setups and possibly a 5sp (or a 6sp would be nice) trans for it to make freeway runs a bit more bearable like for some runs down to Little Rock and such. I've seen two different transmissions for this . Looking for suggestions , but don't know where to put it, since it's not a Modern Mopar. Thank you for what ever input I might get, Bill;)

What is the problem with the steering on your GTX? Mileage on car? The rack systems out their now, that are bolt on are mediocre at best. Imposable to align and steering is restricted R & L! I would save your money and just rebuild your front end with pollygraphite bushings, All new B Joints, T rod ends and such. You will be amazed at the improvement. And the $$ you will save over the rack setup. Now if your set on a rack system check out Cap Auto Products www.capautoproducts.com they use all MoPar products not Ford stuff modified to work on our cars. Get Dec 08 MoPar Action Mag read article on Steering upgrades. Also check out the Tranz Tech ad in MoPar Collectors Guide Mag for a Big Block conversion for your car. There is another article on rebuilding Muscle Car suspensions I am looking for and will update this when I find it, that is very specific on the gains each part will give. I hope this helped. I have a couple of older MoPar's that I have redone with excellent results in driveability.
