Yeah, I now have a Charger that I have to go pick up. It's newer than the GTX, but still not what you'd call Modern though. And It's not near as big either. Fact is, it's an 85' Shelby (Turbo) Charger. Engine and transaxle have been done through with new parts (tranaxle is from a Daytona Shelby Z) Also,
the turbo and related components are new. Power train has about 1,900 miles on them, since being gone through. A/C blows cold air an everything works well. Body and interior look good as well.

Be at the next possible on, Nick. Soon as I'm through with the GTX, might just have to put a hitch on it and bring the lil' Shelby along behind it.

Thanks, I am right proud myself! Have to go to the power part of Florida to retrieve it, sometime next week.

My ex had one of those when we were dating, those are some bad little mothers!

Read and heard a lot about them back when they came out. Closest I ever got to having one myself, was the 84' Plymouth Turismo 2.2 and IT was a pretty cool runner itself and it was only the 2 barrel 110hp version. Thing about this Lil' car, I can just ease around in it, get some decent gas mileage and go virtually unnoticed but then I can also stick my foot in it and do a bit of mind blowing as I pass some cars that didn't give it a 2nd notice. Also will handle the "Twisty" roads real well too!

Nice find Bill :) Those are pretty wicked little cars. I had a 89 Shelby Daytona loaded. BA car.

Thank you Hawkeye, I'm feeling real good about this myself.:) I have ALWAYS wanted one AND, of course, I wanted one of those Daytonas too! Now, THIS car has the transaxle from a Shelby Daytona , SO, I'm getting PART of one in the deal. I'll bet that Daytona of YOURS WAS quite a runner. MY GTX is something to drive, but THIS one will be able to GET THE HEART RACING and yet sneak up on them, if you so desire. I remember going up U.S.hwy71 and when I wanted to pass someone, you just grab a lower gear, Nail it, give a flip of the steering wheel AND you were past the car, in a flash! I had to be careful with THAT ONE. I went from the 76' Volare' to the 84' Turismo 2.2 and the difference in the handling and steering was like daylight AND dark! That little 2.2 was incredible for being no bigger than it was! I AM getting anxious.;)

Just a quick note (cause I'm not home yet, I'm checked in at the La Quinta over just off of Rodney Parham just east of I-430 and got there about 2:30AM this morning) that just to keep the interest up, this car has more than I knew! As it stands right now, the little 2.2 is actually a 2.5 AND is putting out about 245hp, although with a trip to the Dyno AND someone who knows what they are doing, should bring that number up to about
300HP! More later, after I've had some sleep! Meanwhile, the Lil' Shelby is sitting out front on a tow dolly behind my Gran Caravan.

Notice: I came back just now, to see how things were going and wen I read what I had posted EARLY this morning, I quickly realized that I needed to edit out the mistakes. Like the engine was PUTTING (not Pitting) out 245hp (not 2456hp) AND I corrected the spelling of Shelby. I'll be back, got to get some food! Energy lever is dropping.

This guy was building This one for the track and decided it was looking too good for the track, so he made it streetable. I have to say that I think this little job could give my GTX some trouble. The seller said that he and his wife used to go give some Mustangs some trouble with this little Charger.:D I can se how that could happen. After we got home, I took this car out on the streets and have already "Rattled Some Cages!";)

I've been getting mixed reactions to the Shelby. I've had it out a few times now. Some folks don't even know what it is, but give cool looks and comments. Others have told me that THEY had one back in the day and I even had ONE tell me that HE is presently building a Rampage with some "Punch to it" and some cool touches to it as well. Not too excited about those really low profile tires though. They sure ride rough and traction isn't the best. It takes alot of effort to leave out quickly, without spinning a wheel. Maybe I just need MORE practice, I don't know.

Thanks, I hope that SOMEDAY, I will get myself a Charger (new one, that is). Like to have a Challenger, but, I have to be realistic because there are a number of times that I have my Daughter AND my Dad (84yrs old) with me and the Challenger isn't very practical for that (only 2 doors). Don't shoot me, but I have to say that when the new Chargers first came out, I thought "4 DOORS?" But I didn't completely blow them off, I really like the look that they have. The front end (with the way the headlights and grille are done) seems to have a Scowl to it (like, "DON'T MESS WITH ME!") I haven't driven one yet AND I'm concerned that, soon as I do, I'll be wanting to trade in my Grand Caravan. And, with my lifestyle, I really NEED the Minivan. I'm sure that lots of folks get that "Deer Caught In The Headlights Look", when the word "Minivan" is said. But, I have to say that I've had good luck with my Dodge minivan over the years AND this one does the job well with the seats that fold into the floor, the 3.8 engine that has pretty good power for what it is, still pulled 17 - 18mpg pulling the Shelby back from Florida, drives like a car and I think it looks pretty slick in that red they have now.

Sorry, this is the best shot I have on the pc right now. It's kinda overshadowed by my 80' CBX.

Good lookin bike. You just have all kinds of fun stuff to drive!!

Thanks, it IS good to get the CBX out for a ride, as I can. The SOUND and the FEEL of that bike is Awesome! Also have an 83' Kawasaki GPZ1100, which is impressive as well, but, I feel MORE comfortable on the CBX. Got a few more bikes but, I'm mainly trying to concentrate on the Shelby Charger and the GTX. NOW, when Spring shows up, THAT might be a different story. Good weather, will make the bikes more appealing.;)

Here's a shot of the GPZ, with an 80' CB650C in the background (and the chrome headlight of the 650 seems to be part of the GPZ, but it's not).
