As some of you already know, I applied fatmat in every possible spot inside my trunk about two months ago. Of course, I had to cover the trunk with fatmat but that left an ugly tinfoil look on the inside. I left the fatmat exposed until I could figure out what kind of trunk liner I wanted installed.
Using a template I had from a long time ago, I picked up some materials from Hobby Lobby and carpet from a local car audio shop. It took me about two hours to complete since the whole process was really playing around with different ideas and improvisation.
I went with an OEM style liner that matched the rest of the carpet in the trunk. I didn't add anything else since I wasn't sure how it would look, but maybe later I will add some color or lettering. I had to cut away part of the fatmat that was visible outside the liner, but that was the only adjustment i had to make. The cost of the materials USED was about $22. I bought a lot of materials because I wasn't sure if the first product was going to be acceptable or not. lol. I was very surprised I didn't run into any problems or screw the entire thing up. Here are the pics!
