Well, mom called me Monday and told me about her IT department selling some old gear. Went up there at a little before 11 AM yesterday. Picked up a few things....

What I ended up with is 4 Dell computers.
1.7 ghz 364 meg memory 40 gig HD
1.6 ghz 768 meg memory 256 meg Nvidia 2 20 gig HD
1.6 ghz 512 meg memory 256 meg Nvidia 2 30 gig HD
1.3 ghz 512 meg memory 30 gig HD

3 Viewsonic 19 inch color monitors.

4 copies of XP pro, 3 copies of Office, 4 copies of Nortons AV.

Spent the day setting up 3 of them and getting all updates installed. 4th was having problems so I played around with it today and found out it had a bad hard drive. Out came the 20 gig HD and in went a 40 gig HD I had setting around, all works fine now. I also had a 1 gig stick of memory. Swapped stuff around and now the 3 slower processors have 512 memory and the 1.7 has 1.5 gigs of memory! My dad gets a new computer for xmas, my mom gets a new computer for xmas, youngest gets a computer and I've got one that I'm hooking up to my TV to watch movies from.

How much did the 4 comps, 3 monitors and software cost? 55$ total... yes 55$!

Love IT sales! Oh and yes... I put it all in the mag and still had room!

I've got one I'm going to strip everything off of this weekend and see what I can salvage. My moms got a dell...256 MG ram/40 Gb HD. So I'm going to throw what I can into it. Sad thing is...hers is 2 years old. Mine is almost 7...and mine was a 120 hd. I don't know how she even manages to email on that thing. I tried checking my pages while I was there and gave up. I would have a better chance sending smoke signals.

know anything about virtualdub?

That's why dad gets one. When we went down there it took me almost 10 minutes to make a post on CM.com and another 10-20 to check email so I could get phone numbers to call people! I don't know how he gets the pictures I send sometimes.

I almost got another that had an 80 gig HD in it but I let someone else take it, I'm too nice sometimes. I got these 4 and most anyone else got was 2, there were only about 15 total LOL. TON of monitors though, from 15 up to 19 inch CRTs. 5$ each...

Sorry, they were gone within minutes... I was 1st in line and got the 1st 3 I wanted but missed on the 4th... that's why one is a 1.3 ghz instead of a 1.6
