View Full Version : Need some input
Craftsman 10-20-2009, 08:41 PM In January I'm going to have a couple of grand to put in the car. I am wrestling with whether or not to put it in the engine, Heads and cams from Inertia motor sports. The predator and the big bully CAI are already decided on, dual exhaust is on the way from another member (thanks Wiltansco). Or just stick with the CAI and the Predator and spend the rest on cosmetics. Any input would be appreciated. Please try to give reasons behind suggestions too. For those who don't know i have a 2007 SXT with the 3.5L
hawkeye4077 10-20-2009, 10:21 PM It really depends on what 'you' want from your car. Do you want more power? Some folks just want power others cosmetics and some (like me) go for both. Personally I would go with the predator, CAI and exhaust. They will make a big difference in the performance of your car. Use your money to spruce up the under hood and interior or lighting. Just my opinion.
Black Magic 10-20-2009, 10:25 PM Grab a fist full of dough, come down here to the city for the weekend. We'll hit the fabric store and hook up the int. for next to nothing. Then drop a little on some wheels maybe or some underhood bling. Something to make it stand apart in a crowd. Pred. CAI and pipes will be a big dif. Would wait on other stuff before droppin the big money down.

I agree.
If you want the most bang for your bucks: when you install the heads and cam, you will also need the p/p lower intake manifold (LIM) and the p/p throttle body -- Plus the CAI, Predator, and exhaust!
For now, get the CAI, Predator, exhaust, and ported/polished throttle body... add the LIM if you can afford it. Then play around with the rest of the money on cosmetics
Preditor, CAI, and exhaust will do well................Id also do some suspension mods, swaybars, springs...............make it handle then go for big power..................But thats just me............
Willtransco 10-21-2009, 12:12 AM I might have a R/T suspension availablw end of year...working on it!

Cool man let me know. Yeah I'm sold on the CAI, Predator and exhaust. I also got a price from a local reputable paint shop for painted on hockey stripes at $300 a side. I'm just tryin to figure out what else to do..... so many mods so little money LOL
hawkeye4077 10-21-2009, 01:13 AM There's lots of mods you can do for little or no money. We'll talk about some on Saturday.
KENSBADAZRT 10-21-2009, 01:16 AM You thought about the 180 Tstat to go with the Predator and CAI? Make sure you search the vendors out real good on these and I also saw somebody selling the Pred/180 Tstat combo for cheap on the "parts for sell" thread
Black Magic 10-21-2009, 01:17 AM Springs are a good start and lots of people trade them off when they upgrade. I got my Eibach springs for 150 shipped. If/when I get my airbags, I'll be selling the springs. They are for a mag but I've heard they will work on a charger too, Ed would know for sure I think.
Prospector 10-21-2009, 01:19 AM Predator has come down in price since the Trinity came out...
Ask GreenKing

Rabbit08 10-24-2009, 09:50 AM I agree with the 180 T-stat if you get the diablo pretty easy install and cheap to like 17 bucks or something like that and be sure to look for package deals i think you should start out with performance just a couple things like you said Cia and the tuner stuff like that then get some cosmetics there are alot of cheap things you can do to set your car apart from everybody elses
HonkEwitDaJeep 10-24-2009, 08:33 PM Yeah Joe, I would go with CAI, Predator, 180 thermo. Keep an eye out, you can pick up lowering springs for a very resonable price. How about a set of chrome clad 20's? I know of a few sets of those for a very fair price. If you need some help locating stuff let me know, I seach for parts the whole time I am supposed to be working lol
FOST3RS CHARG3R 10-27-2009, 06:08 AM If i were you, which i will be in your position in the spring, i would get the CAI, exhaust and predator and stop there performance wise... for now.
Then i would go on and do some cosmetic mods! Im waitin til spring and gonna get the grip front fascia and a few other things. (the fascia is first due to my fascia issue right now). this way youll have the best of both worlds, a bit more get up and good looks!
