BFG Drag's are running 8 or 9's but that with a good suspension set up............slicks id do the hoosiers.........have heard and seen nothing but good launches from these.......... Bee576 10-23-2009, 02:13 AM I am going to be buying some Drag Tires...Havent made a final decision on slicks or DOT Radials yet..If it were you..what would you decide on? What kind of power are you making? If you aren't running any power adders, the DRs would work fine. You can put them on at the house and drive out to the track on them. I've got Hoosiers and Mickey Thompson DRs. I ran the Hoosiers when I was running NOS on the stroker and they worked out fine and I liked them a lot. I bought the Mickey Thompsons because I had a lot of people tell me that they hook up better and would improve my 60 ft times. I've ran them with my new setup of a supercharged stroker and they have trouble keeping up with the power when I launch it hard. I've only made about 6 passes on the Mickeys and they haven't been very consistent so far but when they did hook up, I had my best 60ft time of 1.6. I probably just need to make more passes and play with the air pressure to find the right setup. I ran them at 14 psi the first couple of passes and dropped it down to 12 psi. It would still spin a little coming out of the hole and the tires still chirp when it shifts. I plan on mounting up the Hoosiers again and trying them on the new setup so I can make an comparison. That's about it on my experience with DRs. summer72 10-23-2009, 11:04 PM Wow! Thats not a lot of information. :) Nice.. oreo 10-23-2009, 11:08 PM What kind of power are you making? Bee576 10-24-2009, 02:06 AM I had a buddy that ran his M/T's around 8-10 psi...........but that was on a butstank............ I don't know if I can go that low. I marked the tires and they slipped on the rim about 3 inches at 12psi. I've seen guys put screws in their wheels to secure the tire on rim. I wouldn't mind doing that but I don't like the idea of drilling holes in my rims. The track is supposed to be open on Sunday afternoon so I might head out there and make a few passes. Bee576 10-24-2009, 02:12 AM Wow! Thats not a lot of information. :) Nice.. Yea, I spent a lot of time surfing the net trying to find out which DR is the best and every brand has their camp of supporters that will tell you that their brand is the greatest so there really isn't much real data to go by. I really don't think any brand will give you significantly different results from another if you set them up right. oreo 10-24-2009, 02:15 AM Maybe time to invest in some bead-lock rims, specially with that kind of torque that your making..........that way they already come with the holes...........if your slipping 3" on the rim then that could be a problem too.............Slipping = breaking bead.............loss of air..........less traction...........probably heats back up to a decent air pressure towards the end of the track........... I've been thinking about picking up a set of rims from HHP. I've got to be careful about how I approach the wife on getting more parts for the car. I'm still taking heat for tranny and supercharger upgrades...:D oreo 10-24-2009, 01:36 PM tell her it will make the car look pretty and it will make it safer to drive....................heh;) Willtransco 10-24-2009, 08:16 PM Thanks for Info you all..
