Last October I helped raise a little money for the Lawton Crimestoppers by selling tshirts at work. Only sold a few but every little counts! Anyway, I had a missed call from the detective in charge today. I havent talked to him yet but assume its regarding fundraising. So I went to their website to see if they had an event posted. Didnt see anything in the near future but was very pleased to see the new banner!

This got me thinking of a way to get together with the local PD Chargers. I know that at the last couple Lawton getogethers people have mentioned how cool it would be if the police showed in the new Chargers. That is unlikely unless we do something illegal. :rolleyes: So, instead of wishing, lets go to them. I am going to mention to him about the GPMM and see if we can pull something together. If not we could just invade their next event anyway.:D

But I did mention to him about the club and he sounded interested so I'm going to talk more when I go down town. He did tell me they have at least two recently confiscated chargers. One they showed at their last get together along with the Vette. I've always wanted to do something to help them out anyway, so maybe this is all an omen. lol.

Yeah they had a Plum Crazy Daytona at the home and garden show last weekend.

I talked with him monday and asked about hooking up with crimestoppers. He said they are fairly short on funds for events, so they usually just stick with the main setup basically. Moonlight Walk, Bike Auction, etc. He did mention it would be cool to have more cars in on the poker run. So, I'm going to find out when that is and maybe we can get together for that.

Oh, btw... other than the whole car deal. I still plan to help out with the Moonlight Walk Against Drugs in October, so don't get mad when I start bugging ya'll to buy T-shirts! :)

Well, right now they only have the 'Vette. They showed the confiscated Plum recently at Home Depot. Not too sure if actual PD vehicles will be at any events or not. Everytime I drive downtown to pay my water bill, I'm tempted to park behind them and get a pic. ;)
